Then a week prior CNY, we went shopping. Nothing big, nothing fancy, in fact the time wasn't enough. Today is the fourth day of the tiger year, I should have written this post long before today. What a lazy bum I am.

I had my hair cut, btw. In case you didn't notice. I'm back to my cuteness now. Hahaha.
I used to think that hair is nothing to a person's overall appearance. However now, I think the opposite. Now after I had my hair trimmed, I can just slip on any t-shirts and I feel fine. And what is not less important is picking the right hair-stylist and the right hair style.
I had a horrible experience with this and believe me, once you made the wrong decision with your hair, you have nothing to do but to wait till it grows back. And in the story of hair, trust me, there's nothing worse than those days and months of waiting.



It's a bit short, but it will grow well. I'm sure of that. :)



Oh, and Happy Tiger Year. May we all are showered with prosperity and longevity.
I'll drink to that!! Hear.. Hear !!!!

My First Ever Glittery Top

I'm thinking about how else I can wear this glitter top, without looking too much. Hm......
The idea will pop up my mind anyway. It always does.
So, here below, the glitter top looked kinda formal. Well, I was going to a friend's wedding, so the purpose was to look formal.
I tried the top on, I put the skirt on, I stood in front of the mirror. Not bad. Then I accessorized with sequined necklace and bracelet, I grabbed my clutch "of the month", the red snake skin one. Then I stood for a while in front of my shoe rack, weighing between red patent wedges or black patent pumps (meanwhile thinking how perfect it would be if i had a pair of sequined shoes) before finally decided on the wedges and stormed out of the house.

I do realize that people don't wear two pieces to formal parties. So, I was thinking, have I committed a fashion crime?
Well..... well.......you decide, but you'd better say "no"!!!
I had nothing formal or elegant enough for the reception that night, I lacked the preparation like I always do, so that's why I decided to come out like this. Besides, it looked okay, I think. If I aim to dress all out, I can do a million times better that the others .
(Oh, you should trust me ppl, I am good in that department. Not bragging, but hell yeah, I am just that good!!!)
Hahaha, I'm kidding.
So, what can you call this look? Well, I name it "semi formal gothic chic".

I think it's arranged, so I salute them for it.

They had a dinner at this new posh restro in a hotel which has quite an awesome decoration.

I only arrived later for the after dinner party and also to make use of the luxurious surroundings for taking pictures.

How About Some Latex ?

This latex snake skin pattern top is smokin' hot. Honestly, I was quite doubtful with wearing snake skin pattern at first, especially when the material is latex and the color is beige. It came in three colors: black, dark grey and beige. I was thinking of getting the black one, but it was selling so fast and all that was left was this beige. And the seller actually said this," Kalo mau eksis ya pilih warna beige",when I asked her which color was the best one. She insisted it was the best and recommended me to take it.
Well, I don't want to "eksis" and I am certainly not ready to be a "reptile" girl. So I decided to pass. Then, surprisingly, she sent me this top as a free gift, a complimentary for me as I'd shopped quite a lot from her.
I was thrilled the moment I saw it!!!! You know how happy you will feel, when you get what you really like. And I think it is very thoughtful of her to send me the top as the free gift. I was delightful.

And I guess she was right at some point. It is pretty. It is latex, but it doesn't give the "too much" look. It is quite comfortable to wear, in fact.
The shoulders were supposed to be pointy, but here they were kinda limp. I have bought some shoulder pads and I'm gonna ask some tailor to sew them on both sides.

I wore it with a pair of white shorts, a pair of deep brown oxford ankle boots and my mom's bag. It is an old bag, I don't know if you can call it vintage. Let's just call it oldies.
Anyway, talking about vintage, I am hunting a vintage purse, but to no avail until this minute. What I want is an affordable and classy vintage bag. Nothing costs more than 200,000 IDR. Hope I can find one soon.
The necklace I was wearing was a bargain, only 40,000 IDR. Bought it at a boutique named "Diz Dress" in a local mall.


Angel was wearing a leopard motif blazer with cute necklace, from The Chicks' Dollhouse. Angel here proves herself very very useful when I need someone to take my pictures. She knows some good angles and lighting, you know. Got some quick tutorial from her photographer boyfriend, I guess. Well her boyfriend is not exactly a photographer, but he takes good pictures and he knows photography. Contact me if you need a photographer or a graphic designer service. :D :D :D.
I am serious, btw.


Then, my boyfriend here, also proves himself very useful in the task of taking pictures. He is indeed reliable. Thanks, honey. :)

Lace Affair

This lace top reminds me of "kebaya", a Javanese traditional costume. If I paired it with a sarong and a fake bun, then I'd be ready to attend a "gamelan" show, becoming the "sinden", with unbelievably sharp voice, who then finally got booed on.

Well that was an "if". In reality, I paired it with denim shorts, to eliminate the formal "auntie" attitude and a pair of nude heels to give the top a touch of modern and of course, my very favorite snake skin dark red clutch, to boost up the minimal look. You're gonna see me hugging this baby for quite some time, trust me. She's gonna have the same faith like my black over-sized clutch, making her way everywhere from formal occasions to informal occasions.

Mixing Motif

Ladies and gents, i present you...... my favorite skirt at the moment, a custom-made skirt..... THE floral skirt.
It's said custom-made for some reasons (who knows you might think there's nothing oh so special with the skirt). First, I picked the fabric. Then, I picked the model (though there's nothing special with the model) and it is really my size, so the conclusion is it is perfect to the detail. For those reasons, I think it deserves to be called a custom-made skirt, you know, as if it was THAT special. No, not as if, cause it IS that special.
Yeah, whatever....

I seldom find a skirt which fits me perfectly well. If it is not the waist, being too loose, then it is the hips, being too tight.
So it is sort of flowery or abstract, I'm not quite sure, and the only color that popped up my mind to pair it with is white. Well, it is a safe choice, I know. I have no cute tops. Actually, I was thinking that a polkadot top would look absolutely nice with the skirt, but I have no such top, so ..... back to basic : white. You can never go wrong with white.



I am so into motif lately. My wardrobe hunting recently is all about motif and pattern and bold colors. I bought this faux-snake skin over-sized clutch last month on MNG sale. I love the snake skin, the color and the size. And since Fran also thinks that snake skin is cute, plus I had been weighing whether to buy this clutch or not for quite some time, imagine my excitement when I found out that it was on sale. Woo...hooo.....
Now of that, I certainly didn't need to think twice. So, home she went with me.

Anyway, look at the beautiful background. This was taken at an international franchised coffee shop located in a local mall juxtaposed to a not so local hotel, which is beautifully decorated to welcome Chinese New Year.
Ohh... I just love this festive season. Just a random thought, though.



Let you look one more time at the decoration. You have to look closely, and use your imagination. The ornament is red with a touch of gold. I know it's not too clear, but...... considered seen and acknowledgment gained. The decoration is pretty.....!!!!!
Chinese New Year is often associated with red and gold colors with all its hustle activities and preparations, not to mention the loudness, but somehow I just enjoy the spirit.
So, yippee...... It's only two days away.
